Projet mobilité Erasmus + avec l’Allemagne - Jour 4

Pour cette quatrième journée de mobilité, c’est Enora et Zoé qui vous font un compte-rendu (tout en anglais) de leurs aventures.

We started our third day in Berlin by meeting primary school children who wanted to speak to us in French. It was impressive to see their level after only five weeks of learning French

After this short meeting, we headed to the Jewish Museum in Berlin. We were able to broaden our vision and learn more about the subject in a more general way and outside the context of Nazism.

The architecture was really special and unusual and made the visit all the more interesting, as was our guide. He told us about the Christian’s view of Judaism, the origins of anti-Semitism and its reasons, as well as a particularly touching work called "The Fires"."Where we could see lots of faces on the ground screaming as we moved forward.

Some people were uncomfortable with this, others wanted to pay tribute to the artist’s wishes.

In addition, we were able to visit a kind of memorial composed of large columns that made us feel tiny next to them and that made us feel lost, and the architect wanted to represent a way of being in the place of the Jews and of feeling lost during exiles for example

After visiting the museum, we went to explore the area around Alexanderplatz station. We had 40 minutes to look around.

We were able to see the Fernsehturm (TV Tower), St. Mary’s Evangelical Church, the Rotes Rathaus (City Hall), and the World Clock (Weltzeituhr).

After we returned to our correspondents, some of us went to the Christmas market. We saw local specialties being sold there, like beer, currywurst, pretzels, and many other things.

At the Christmas market, there was an activity where you could slide down a big slope on tubes, and we all had a good laugh. Then we headed to the shopping center, which is actually the biggest mall in Germany. It was very colorful, with lots of lights, and it looked beautiful. All the tall buildings reminded us of La Défense in Paris.

We toured the stores and stopped at a street food stand for eating. We had a great time, then we all went home to end this beautiful day.
